The campaigned is jointly organized by Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), National Environment Commission (NEC), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Bhutan Trust Fund (BTF).</p>

<p>The occasion was graced by Her Royal Highness, Ashi Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck. Also present were Deputy Minister of NEC, Dasho Nado Rinchen; MoA Secretary, Dasho Sherub Gyaltshen along with the Members of  Parliament and other officials from Respect, Save and Protect Nature (RSPN), MoA, WWF, NEC and BTF.</p>
<p>To mark the campaign, Her Royal Highness released a book on environment called, “Bhutan Environment Outlook 2008” published by NEC. According to the Deputy Minister, the book will guide the future environment agendas and is a second state of reports, first being published in 2001. The book also reveals that Bhutan continues to make significant progress in the field of environment conservation.</p>
<p>As a part of entertainment programme, skits and songs on environment were presented to encourage people to reduce water pollution and follow proper ways of waste disposal. There were also various stalls with posters and brochures and demonstrations to create awareness on environment pollution, forest fire, proper waste disposal, land degradation and wildlife threats.</p>
<p>One of the spokespersons said that environment is like a treasure and we all should take responsibility to protect it so that we maintain 60% of forest cover in all times to come.</p>
<p>The campaign ended with the screening of a documentary on environment conservation.</p>
